What You will Do:

Work with product and stakeholders to agree on scope and timelines
Track progress, manage risks, and step in when things drift
Technical Oversight
Stay close enough to the code to understand challenges and trade-offs
Review and guide design decisions (mainly within an existing monolithic system)
Ensure code quality, consistency, and maintainability
Help the team make pragmatic decisions (not over-engineering solutions)
Systems & Stack
Backend development in Java (Spring ecosystem)

Primarily monolithic applications, with some modularization efforts where needed
Collaboration
Work with QA, product managers, and other teams
Communicate clearly on progress, blockers, and trade-offs
Represent the team in planning and coordination discussions
Requirements:
Solid background in Java backend development (5–10+ years)
Min 2 years of experience leading a team (or strong tech lead ready to step up)
Experience working on monolithic systems and maintaining existing production codebases
Good understanding of Spring, relational databases, and backend architecture
Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with people management
Nice to Have:
Experience with both Oracle and PostgreSQL
Familiarity with legacy systems and gradual modernization
Experience improving development processes in a pragmatic way
