About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on, quick-thinking Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations at our growing Wilmington, North Carolina facility.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you'll work closely with our production and maintenance teams to keep machinery and equipment operating safely, reliably, and at peak performance. You'll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate repairs, and help minimize production downtime.

This is a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly. You'll need to be comfortable moving between tasks, solving problems under pressure, and responding to equipment issues when they arise. Your work will have a direct impact on our ability to maintain production momentum and grow our manufacturing capabilities in Wilmington.

What You'll Do

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to reduce downtime and maintain reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, diagnose issues, and complete repairs to resolve production outages.
  • Respond quickly to critical equipment issues to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain accurate equipment status, maintenance records, and repair logs within our maintenance tracking software.
  • Source required repair parts and coordinate with external vendors to support timely repairs and delivery.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair progress, and maintenance updates to management and production teams.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teammates and production employees to identify and resolve equipment-related challenges.
  • Support improvements that increase equipment performance, reliability, and overall manufacturing capabilities.
  • Participate in after-hours and on-call coverage, including weekends, when required to address critical equipment issues.

What You Need (Required Qualifications)

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Two or more years of experience in a troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, or similar hands-on technical role.

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of instrumentation, electronics, and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and equipment repairs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to accurately maintain equipment information and maintenance records.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
  • Ability to work on-site at our Wilmington, North Carolina facility.
  • Ability to provide after-hours and on-call availability, including weekends, when required to address critical equipment issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and management teams.

What Would Be Considered an Asset (Nice-to-Have Qualifications)

The following qualifications are not required, but would be considered an asset.

  • Diploma or certificate in a relevant technical or skilled-trades field.
  • Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program.

Within your first year, you will:

  • Become familiar with our Wilmington facility's machinery, equipment, maintenance requirements, and manufacturing processes.
  • Independently perform routine preventative maintenance and confidently troubleshoot common equipment issues.
  • Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate and reliable maintenance records and equipment status information.
  • Build strong working relationships with production employees, management, maintenance teammates, vendors, and other key partners.
  • Contribute to improvements in equipment reliability, performance, and our growing manufacturing capabilities.
  • Become a dependable member of the team who can be counted on to respond effectively when priorities change or critical maintenance challenges arise.

Our starting annual total compensation package—including base salary and performance incentives—ranges from $50,432.77 to $58,041.40 USD, depending on experience.
