Retail General Manager

Philadelphia · On-site

About this role

Printfresh, the Philadelphia lifestyle brand known for joyful, hand-painted prints, is opening a cafe and retail flagship designed to feel joyful and memorable, and we're looking for a hands-on Experiential Retail Lead to bring it to life. You'll be equal parts operator, curator, host, and merchant: leading day-to-day cafe and retail operations while creating the events, displays, and thoughtful details that make people linger and return. You'll run the business with an owner's mindset, build a warm, energetic culture that keeps people coming back, and grow into a multi-store leadership role as we expand.

Mission

Run the space

  • Lead daily operations: Own open/close, scheduling, inventory, visual upkeep, and cafe quality — keeping the space warm and intentional every day.
  • Own the business: Partner with the operations team on budgets and priorities, and hit sales goals across coffee and product.

Create the experience

  • Program & host: Run community events (workshops, needlepoint nights, watercolor, reading clubs) and make the cafe experience buzzworthy enough to share.
  • Hospitality that sticks: Support live shopping and in-store content, and deliver genuine, no-pressure hospitality that turns walk-ins into regulars and regulars into superfans.

Merchandise & curate

  • Style the mix: Curate a layered mix of core products, seasonal collections, gifts, and artwork — compelling but mindful of flow and sell-through.
  • Support buying: Help the buying team select gift and 3rd-party merchandise for the store and online.

Build the team & the future

  • Lead the team: Hire, train, schedule, and inspire a team that loves showing up — teaching them to tell the Printfresh story and host with warmth.
  • Shape what's next: Document what works and share insights to inform future Printfresh stores — your path to Director of Retail.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 3–6+ years in retail, hospitality, experiential marketing, boutiques, concept stores, or cafe/restaurant leadership
  • Experience opening or operating a store, pop-up, cafe, or community space strongly preferred
  • Proven experience supervising staff and managing schedules (required)
  • Strong aesthetic eye and a genuine love of merchandising, selling, and hosting
  • Organized, resourceful, and calm in a fast-paced, still-being-built environment
  • Comfortable flexing between styling a display, running an event, solving inventory, and helping a customer

Company at a glance

A longtime lover of patterns and textiles, Amy Voloshin founded Printfresh with her husband Leo in 2016 as a way to combine a few of her greatest passions—quality fabrics, bold prints, and sustainable practices. What started as a tiny operation of Amy packing and shipping orders out of her house has since grown into a nationally recognized (and loved) sleepwear and lifestyle brand. Inspired by plants, animals, and home décor, our prints often start as gouache paintings that are translated into digital illustrations and then hand screen printed or embroidered onto 100% organic cotton. With sizes ranging from XS petite to 6X, along with offering women’s, men’s and all-gender silhouettes, we hope anyone can find their perfect fit.
