About this role

The Cabana Attendant is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation, setup, and upkeep of cabanas or private guest areas within a hospitality or recreational environment at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. This role includes preparing cabanas with all necessary amenities, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and regularly checking on guests to ensure their comfort and satisfaction. The Cabana Attendant works closely with cabana supervisors or concierges to address guest inquiries, assist with special requests, and resolve any issues efficiently. Additionally, the role involves monitoring the condition of cabana equipment, reporting damages or maintenance needs, and supporting events or activities as required. This position is integral to creating a welcoming, safe, and high-quality experience for all guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Guest Support & Operations 

  • Warmly greet and escort guests to their assigned cabanas or private areas promptly.
  • Regularly check on guests throughout the day to ensure they are comfortable and receiving all requested amenities.
  • Maintain high-quality service standards, responding efficiently to guest inquiries, special requests, and minor concerns.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to guests to enhance their overall experience

Compliance & Quality Control 

  • Uphold environmental, health, safety, and sanitation policies at all times.
  • Ensure cabanas and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and maintained according to company and operational standards.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to operational, hospitality, and safety standards to provide a secure and enjoyable environment for guests.

Reporting & Maintenance

  • Report any damages, malfunctions, or maintenance needs to the Cabana Concierge or supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks or coordinate with technical/maintenance staff as necessary.
  • Document any incidents or operational challenges for review by management to ensure continuous improvement

Administrative & Additional Support 

  • Ensure all cabanas are properly prepared, stocked, and equipped with necessary supplies and amenities.
  • Perform cleaning duties to maintain tidiness and organization in cabana areas.
  • Carry out any additional duties assigned by management to support cabana operations and enhance guest satisfaction.

SKILLS SPECIFICS:

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data entry and reporting tools.
  • Detail orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task and think critically
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong planning and coordination skills, especially in handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience is required; additional education in Hospitality or a related field is a plus 
  • Current Health Certificate and Certified in First Aid and CPR
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR, with the capability to respond promptly to emergencies.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Proficient in English, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and supervisors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fit, capable of lifting at least 15 pounds, standing, walking, and moving around for extended periods, including outdoor exposure to sun and varying weather conditions.
  • Must have full range of motion in arms and legs, along with strong visual, verbal, and auditory abilities, to safely participate in emergency drills and follow instructions under critical situations.
  • Demonstrates stamina, endurance, and attention to safety, ensuring personal well-being and the safety of guests at all times.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
