Job Summary

The Surveyor Party Chief Projects is responsible for leading a survey crew in the execution of various surveying projects for Primoris Energy Services Corp. This role involves overseeing field operations, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Job Responsibilities


Lead and direct a survey crew in performing a variety of surveying tasks including topographic, construction, boundary, and as-built surveys.
Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
Interpret and implement survey plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Perform calculations and data analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of survey data.
Maintain accurate field notes, records, and logs.
Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients regarding project progress and any issues.
Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations on site.
Train and mentor junior survey crew members.
Troubleshoot equipment and resolve field-related problems.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Job Qualifications**

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a Party Chief role.
Proficiency in operating various surveying equipment, including total stations, robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and data collectors.
Strong understanding of surveying principles, practices, and calculations.
Experience with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey) is a plus.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions and travel to project sites as required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
