Job Summary

The Safety Manager for Primoris Energy Services in Independence, MO, is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations for energy construction projects.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the company's safety management system, policies, and procedures in accordance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of job sites, equipment, and work practices to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
Lead and facilitate safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, ongoing education, and specialized safety topics.
Monitor and enforce compliance with company safety rules and procedures among all employees and subcontractors.
Develop and manage emergency response plans, including fire prevention, disaster preparedness, and medical emergencies.
Maintain accurate and detailed safety records, including incident reports, training logs, and inspection results.
Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging safety technologies.
Prepare and present regular safety performance reports to management.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in safety management, preferably within the energy, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
OSHA 30-hour certification for Construction or General Industry required.
Professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 and 1926), DOT regulations, and other relevant environmental and safety standards.
Proven experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard control principles.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence employees at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
