Job Summary
The Mechanical Superintendent at PES is responsible for overseeing and directing all mechanical aspects of construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to project schedules and budgets. This role involves direct supervision of mechanical crews and coordination with other trades and project management.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise, direct, and coordinate the work of mechanical craft personnel and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
Plan, schedule, and execute mechanical work activities, including equipment installation, piping, and mechanical system commissioning.
Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget.
Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company and regulatory safety standards.
Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure accurate mechanical installations.
Oversee the quality of mechanical work, performing inspections and implementing quality control measures.
Manage and track material and equipment usage, ensuring efficient utilization and minimizing waste.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other superintendents to ensure seamless project execution.
Prepare daily reports, progress reports, and other documentation as required.
Train and mentor mechanical crew members, fostering their professional development.
* Troubleshoot mechanical problems and provide effective solutions.
Job Qualifications**
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical supervision within the construction industry, preferably in energy services or industrial projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing mechanical crews and complex mechanical installations.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including piping, HVAC, pumps, and other industrial equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of OSHA regulations.
Proficiency in project scheduling and tracking software.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; a degree in mechanical engineering or related field is a plus.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
* Experience with Primoris project management systems and procedures is a plus.
