Job Summary

The Materials Technician I for Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, Texas, is responsible for assisting with the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment on construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.

Job Responsibilities


Assist in receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming materials and equipment, verifying against purchase orders and packing lists.
Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist in preparing materials and equipment for distribution to various work areas on site.
Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and equipment.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Report any damaged or defective materials to supervision promptly.
Collaborate effectively with other team members, project managers, and vendors.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager or Project Superintendent.

Job Qualifications**

High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in a materials handling, warehouse, or construction environment preferred.
Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or material lists is a plus.
Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, with certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and comply with all safety regulations.
