About this role

Job Overview:

Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment to install underground utilities in various terrains. This role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and effective teamwork to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities-

Operate HDD drill rig, locator, and associated equipment to bore and install conduit, pipe, and cable according to project plans and specifications.
Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Interpret blueprints, utility maps, and project plans to determine bore paths, depths, and potential obstacles.
Communicate effectively with crew members, including drill locators, supervisors, and other ground personnel, to ensure smooth drilling operations.
Monitor drilling fluids, pressures, and ground conditions to adjust drilling parameters as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues with HDD equipment in the field.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT).
Complete daily reports, logs, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of job sites, including loading and unloading equipment and materials.
Perform other duties as assigned to support project goals.

Qualifications-

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment.
Proven ability to interpret utility maps, blueprints, and project plans.
Strong understanding of HDD principles, drilling techniques, and subsurface conditions.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL Class A or B preferred.
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
* Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required by project demands.
