Equipment Operator/CDL Driver – Sterling, Virginia

Job Overview:
R B Hinkle Construction Inc. is seeking experienced Equipment Operators and CDL Class A or B Drivers to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. These positions support underground utility construction through the safe operation of heavy equipment and/or the transportation of materials and equipment to and from job sites.
Job Responsibilities-
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, and graders in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment and complete daily maintenance checks.
- Transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites using CDL A or B licensed vehicles.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while operating vehicles and equipment.
- Load and unload materials and equipment safely.
- Assist with general labor duties on job sites as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and equipment.
- Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
- Follow project plans and specifications accurately.
Job Qualifications-
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- Proven experience safely operating a variety of equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Sterling, Virginia office/yard.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
