 Position Summary

The Machine Operator plays a critical part in the production process by setting up, operating, and maintaining plastic molding equipment. You will ensure machines run efficiently, products meet quality standards, and all safety protocols are followed. Will be responsible for assigned production lines to ensure that product is produced in accordance with established quality and product standards. The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Duties may vary based on facility requirements.

Role and Responsibilities

 Machine Operators

  • Set up and operate plastic molding machines according to established procedures.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation and adjust as needed to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Check and maintain defined levels of all raw materials used in production on assigned machinery. Keep all assigned machines and areas neat and clean of debris.
  • Evaluate and discuss the operation of assigned machinery with the Machine Operator from the previous shift. Will operate and adjust production line equipment, in accordance with established production standards as well as report any problems.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of raw materials and notify supervision when replenishment is needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Evaluate and discuss the operation of assigned machinery with the Machine Operator from the previous shift. Will operate and adjust production line equipment, in accordance with established production standards as well as perform preventative maintenance and report any problems.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (technical training plus).
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Experience in plastics or packaging industry a plus
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems.

  •  Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Prior ERP Experience with Maintain X as a plus.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork abilities
  • Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks
