Double Backer Machine Operator / Corrugator Specialist
Are you a detail-oriented operator with a knack for precision and a drive to optimize production? We are looking for a dedicated Double-Backer Operator to be a central part of our high-speed corrugator team. In this hands-on role, you will not just run the machine—you'll be the expert ensuring superior quality, maximum efficiency, and smooth operations from setup to final product. If you are ready to take ownership of a critical phase in our manufacturing process, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Be Doing: The Core Responsibilities

As the Double-Backer Operator, you will be the master of the machine, responsible for the entire double-backer process, from material staging to final quality checks.

  • Expert Setup & Operation: Perform precision setup of bridge guides and the glue station, ensuring the machine is perfectly aligned for each run.
Quality Control & Precision: Monitor and adjust machine settings for tension, alignment, adhesion, and warp control mid-run to maintain our high-quality standards.
  • Material Management: Handle paper roll stock, confirm correct sizing and grade, expertly execute necessary splices, and ensure efficient material usage.
  • Maximize Efficiency: Proactively operate the double-backer at maximum available capacity and speed, in sync with the overall corrugator flow to meet ambitious production goals.
  • Maintenance & Improvement: Perform routine cleaning (starch pans, glue rolls, etc.), identify and report necessary equipment repairs, and proactively recommend process improvements to boost performance.
  • Documentation & Teamwork: Accurately complete production, quality, and safety reports. You'll also work closely with the Corrugator Operator and help train new dry-end personnel.

Skills & Experience We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven mathematical ability to quickly read a tape measure and calculate figures such as percentages, volume, and rate.
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to apply common sense understanding to detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment design, product quality specifications, and production layouts.

Preferred Qualifications (A Bonus, But Not Required!)

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • At least 6 months of experience on the dry end of a corrugator.

The Work Environment & Benefits

Physical Demands (What to Expect)
This is a physically active, demanding, and rewarding role. You must be able to regularly stand, walk, use hands for handling/feeling, reach, stoop, kneel, and occasionally lift/move materials. The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and is typically loud. Safety and proper housekeeping are always our top priorities.

Growth & Performance
We believe in investing in our people. Your performance will be measured not just on meeting operating standards (quality, cost, safety), but also on:

Personal Growth: Setting and achieving professional development goals each year.
Creativity: Actively participating in advancing the business through innovative ideas and solutions.
Ready to become an essential part of our high-speed manufacturing team? Apply today!
