PRODUCTION RELIEF SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION

 Reporting directly to the Plant Manager. 

The Production Relief Supervisor is responsible for and has authority to run an efficient, effective shift. To manage, coordinate, direct, and counsel employees within documented parameters. To resolve problems, utilizing sound judgment and, when necessary, seek guidance. Adherence to company, supplier, and regulatory rules/regulations is paramount. The requirement to function closely as a team in relation to plant operations, Quality, and customer contact. Must be available to work 1st and/or 2nd shift as needed by business needs.

 JOB SUMMARY:

  • Supervise the Plant operation.
  • Assume the Plant Production Manager’s duties during absences.
  • Review and ensure the work schedule, production schedule, raw materials, and packaging are available and execute the production plan.
  • Adherence to all production policies, procedures, forms, and documentation is utilized.
  • Ensure the proper rotation of bottle trailers.
  • Ensure the daily Shift Check List is completed and take appropriate corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure good housekeeping is always maintained. 
  • Ensure local level, corporate, and regulatory rules/regulations and policies are adhered to. 
  • Other job responsibilities as needed. 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be a team player with the ability to plan and execute operational activities.
  • Knowledge of dairy plant operations, including HTST, CIP, fillers, required. 
  • Be self-motivated and well organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

SUPERVISORY SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ensuring daily production requirements are met.
  • Ensuring a safe work environment for all employees
  • Ensuring every employee is trained in all aspects of their job, including but not limited to, job tasks, safety, GMP & SOP standards, and company policy.

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma required. 
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in the food processing field or business management preferred.
