Pricing Analyst
About this role
Position Summary:
The Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing job quotes to retain existing business and grow sales at PPC. This position will work closely with the Sales and Account Management Teams to service our customers. The estimates are based on requirements for materials generated by Sales, Account Managers, Planning Engineers, Scheduler, Purchasing, Pre-Media Graphics, Sourcing, Accounting departments or any Officer of the Company. In the event of absence, these job responsibilities will be covered an employee in the “Pricing Analyst” or “Vice President Chief Commercial Officer” position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· The primary goal of this position to develop accurate and timely price quotations to our customers with the assistance of PPC’s account management and technical teams, including purchasing.
· This position has a crucial responsibility to be accurate in the development of their work product as PPC’s profitability is directly impacted by the information generate by this position.
· This position is responsible for thoroughly understanding all facets of PPC’s business and be able to translate this knowledge into their work product.
· It is also extremely important that this person be able to interface with many different people and teams to effectively assimilate the information need to develop the estimates.
· This position requires a strong sense of urgency, to turn quotes in a timely manner.
· From time to time, this position may also be involved in price negotiation discussions so it’s critical that this position have strong communication skills.
· Generates improvement ideas and embraces improvement projects to better the business.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Accuracy in all aspects of their job.
· Negotiation skills with customers and suppliers are essential.
· Action-oriented, assertive, and diplomatic in order to get things done on time. This position requires multi-tasking and an individual who enjoys working with a sense of urgency and is capable of creative problem-solving to overcome challenges and hurdles in the supply chain.
· Detailed in doing required paperwork and computer inputs with a high degree of accuracy. Able to read and write in English.
· Ability to participate as a team member with consensus decision-making.
· Experience with business operating systems and knowledge of Windows Computing programs a must with some degree of proficiency (prefer Excel, Word, Outlook).
· At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in flexible packaging or a similar manufacturing company.
· Knowledge of administrative processes in a plastic manufacturing facility a plus.
· Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
