Role Summary

As an Operations Account Specialist, you’ll play an important role in keeping client accounts healthy and supporting strong relationships with both clients and debtors. You’ll manage day-to-day account activity, monitor payments and aging, help resolve disputes, and partner closely with Account Executives to keep portfolios moving in the right direction.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and balancing customer service with operational responsibilities.

Day in the Life

You’ll start your day reviewing account activity, aging reports, and outstanding payments to determine where your focus is needed most. Throughout the day, you’ll connect with clients and debtors, follow up on past-due invoices, research payment issues, help resolve disputes, and keep account information up to date. You’ll work closely with Account Executives to identify risks, develop action plans, and provide the operational support they need to focus on client relationships and purchasing.

Scheduled working hours: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage collection activities for assigned client portfolios and follow up on past-due invoices.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with debtors and clients.

  • Monitor aging reports and identify accounts or payment trends that may require additional attention.

  • Review incoming payments and ensure they are applied accurately and on time.

  • Research unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and posting issues and coordinate corrections as needed.

  • Support the open credit process and help resolve payment exceptions.

  • Monitor portfolio health, account aging, and balances that may present increased risk.

  • Track disputed invoices and work with clients and debtors to help resolve outstanding issues.

  • Escalate unresolved disputes, payment delays, and other account concerns when appropriate.

  • Partner regularly with Account Executives to review portfolio health, collection activity, and risk concerns.

  • Support account strategy discussions and help develop action plans for accounts that need additional attention.

  • Maintain accurate account notes, status reports, and documentation.

  • Track key account and collection metrics and prepare account summaries for management.

  • Follow established company procedures and maintain accurate, timely records.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in customer service or a similar client-facing role.

  • Experience with account resolution, collections, escalations, or problem-solving is strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Comfortable having conversations about past-due payments and working through challenging situations.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to identify issues, research solutions, and follow through to resolution.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Experience in the transportation industry is a plus.

  • Comfortable working scheduled hours of 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Compensation Range

Hourly: $23.75 - $33.25
