As a Shop Technician with Power Motive Corporation, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment in the Shop. This job also includes overhauling and maintaining diesel motors used to operate heavy equipment, trucks, generators, and other equipment. The ability to diagnose, change and re-build all machine components, i.e., electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, ground engaging gear, etc., utilizing our shop facilities
You will work at a level that requires minimal supervised input to diagnose a failure. You will collaborate with the customer and their representative in a professional and courteous manner. Support our customers, sales, and parts departments and to generate revenue for Power Motive Corporation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Diagnose all machine systems and components.
Determine appropriate parts necessary.
Change or rebuild machine components, as necessary.
Use pressure-washing equipment to clean machinery.
Ensure that machines are in safe operating condition Perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding Change oil and filters on machinery.
Change ground engaging gear and attachments on machinery.
Read and understand parts and service books.
Maintain service records for machines. .
Cleans tools and working area.
Able to interact professionally and courteously with customers.
Performs other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1-2 years of experience in Heavy Equipment
Educational background/Certification in Heavy Equipment repairs.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee should be able to determine whether to lift objects manually or utilize cranes, forklifts, or other lifting equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds utilizing proper lifting techniques. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Minimum of 1-2 years of Heavy Equipment Experience
Diesel Technician certification preferred
Ability to be certified on a forklift and overhead crane operation.
Heavy Equipment Dealer certification(s) is a plus.
