About this role

The Equipment Engineer is responsible for maintaining, improving, and sustaining manufacturing and test equipment to ensure high uptime, reliability, and process performance. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment optimization, and supporting production to meet quality and output targets.

Key Responsibilities
đź”§ Equipment Maintenance & Uptime
  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime and availability to meet production goals
  • Perform and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment issues

⚙️ Equipment Improvement & Optimization
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance
  • Optimize machine parameters to improve yield, efficiency, and cycle time
  • Implement upgrades, modifications, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data (MTBF, MTTR, downtime)

🛠️ Technical Troubleshooting
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues
  • Work with vendors or internal teams for complex problem resolution
  • Support process engineers in resolving equipment-related process issues

📊 Monitoring & Data Analysis
  • Track equipment performance metrics:
    • Uptime
    • OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
    • Failure trends
  • Use data to identify improvement opportunities

đź“‹ Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain proper documentation:
    • Maintenance logs
    • Equipment history records
    • Work instructions and SOPs
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
  • Maintain compliances with test transfer.

đź§Ş New Equipment & Project Support
  • Support installation, qualification, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Participate in equipment acceptance equipment buy off checklist.
  • Assist in test transfer and NPI (New Product Introduction)

🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with:
    • Test Engineer
    • Product Engineer
    • Quality / FA teams
  • Coordinate with vendors for spare parts, servicing, and upgrades

đź§ą Safety & 5S Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies
  • Maintain proper 5S practices around equipment areas
  • Ensure safe operation and handling of equipment

Key Requirements
🎓 Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Electrical / Electronics Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Mechatronics or related field

đź’Ľ Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in semiconductor / manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ATE, test handlers

🛠️ Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
    • PLCs, automation, or control systems (preferred)
    • Mechanical and electrical systems
  • Familiar with:
    • Preventive maintenance systems
    • Statistical analysis tools
    • Equipment control software

  • Ability to work under pressure in a production environment

  • May require shift support or on-call duty
