Senior Product Development Engineer (Power Electronics)
About this role
As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will serve as responsible for product development of PCB-based gate driver solutions for industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Product design from conceptualization to mass production
- Circuit design of power electronic components for industrial applications with focus on PCB Based Gate Driver Solutions, dc-dc converter, analog circuits and etc
- Knowledge in components selection and second source proposals, generate simulation and calculations
- Product design optimization, evaluation and document PCB Gate Driver built with the company’s products.
- Facilitate technical design review with engineering teams and other groups
- Characterization of new circuits and components.
- Generate schematic and supervise PCB layout design
- Knowledge in safety, quality/reliability, and manufacturability of the products
- Provide leadership, supervision, technical reviews, and trainings for junior engineers
- Provide design technical support and technical advice to customers
- Work with vendors, test engineering and industrialization teams to prepare designs for testing and manufacturing.
- Low and high voltage characterization of PCB-based gate drivers, lab-based characterization of components and performing various evaluations
- Generation of internal technical documentation such as technical presentation, test plan, and test reports
- Familiarity with the process product lifecycle management (PLM) and engineering changes (ECO or MCO)
- Collaboration and support with related industrial groups like Marketing, ASIC Development, Application Engineering, Operations, Test Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and etc.
Requirements
- Degree in electronics/electrical engineering or in related fields
- Excellent understanding of Power Electronics and electrical engineering fundamentals
- 5 years of experience in power electronics design in any of the following: gate drivers, switch mode power supply and power management
- Knowledge and experience of power electronics components such as IGBT, SiC MOSFET and Gate Drivers
- Ability to design PCB layout or willing to be trained in PCB layout design with CAD system (e.g., Altium Designer) and simulation tools (e.g., Simetrix/Simplis, LTSpice)
- Knowledgeable with the used of electronic equipment and proper application of measurement techniques
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Learning capability and willingness to be trained and pursue further education
- Resilient under stress even in tough situations
- Strong organizational skills
- A team player, as well can work individually with minimum supervision
