POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Human Resources team embodies a high-touch and high-quality caliber of customer service, while prioritizing contemporary and technology-driven HR functions. We are seeking a highly motivated Onboarding Specialist to assist and support our growing team. The Onboarding Specialist will play a key role in creating a smooth and positive experience for new hires. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing onboarding activities, ensuring accurate HRIS data entry and reporting, and supporting company-wide employee experience and engagement programs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional onboarding experiences while supporting broader Human Resources initiatives. This role reports directly to the Human Resources Generalist.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and manage the new hire onboarding process for all non-union employees from offer letter acceptance through first day of employment. Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during their onboarding journey, providing clear communication and guidance throughout the process.
- Oversee pre-employment activities, including testing, paperwork and HRIS system set-up.
- Plan and facilitate all day-one orientation sessions to ensure a seamless experience and messaging that is consistent with Power culture. Collaborate with hiring managers, IT, Payroll and Learning & Development on all matters related to the onboarding process.
- Provide back-up coverage for Union and Intern hiring and onboarding.
- Responsible for accurate and timely input and maintenance of new hire data into HRIS and Resource Management Systems. Generate reports as needed.
- Assist with offer letter drafting and benefit enrollment.
- Continuously evaluate and improve onboarding materials, tools and processes. Gather feedback from new hires and managers to optimize the employee experience. Identify and act upon opportunities for improvement.
- Create and manage company-wide employee experience and engagement programs, including Power's online swag store and the new hire breakfast.
- Support Power's recruiting teams collegiate recruiting efforts by coordinating on-campus interviews, scheduling in-office interviews, sending invitations, and making flight and hotel reservations.
- Manage external job postings.
- Serve as badging back-up for Power's Aviation Group and Healthcare-related projects.
- Uphold the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality in all matters requiring discretion.
- Perform other job-related tasks and projects as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a business-related field, or equivalent experience
- 2 + years of experience in Human Resources, onboarding, recruiting or employee experience roles
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Detail oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality experiences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a customer service focused mindset
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus
COMPENSATION DETAILS:
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
