Job DetailsSummary

Provides exceptional massage therapy and body treatment services to members and guests in a professional, welcoming, and relaxing spa environment. Delivers personalized treatments utilizing various massage modalities and body therapies while ensuring the highest level of guest care, comfort, and confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;

Performs massage therapy and body treatment services in accordance with established spa standards and protocols.
Provides exceptional customer service by creating a warm, welcoming, and professional experience for all members and guests.
Maintains complete confidentiality regarding client information and remains attentive and sensitive to individual client needs.
Performs massage and body treatments while maintaining proper draping techniques, client comfort, and appropriate pressure throughout the service.
Conducts client consultations to assess needs, preferences, and contraindications prior to treatment.
Recommends retail products, home care, and additional spa services based on client needs and wellness goals.
Educates clients on the benefits of massage therapy and available spa treatments and services.
Maintains treatment rooms, equipment, linens, and supplies in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner in accordance with spa and health regulations.
Ensures treatment rooms are properly prepared and stocked prior to each appointment.
Manages appointment times efficiently to ensure each client receives their full scheduled service.
Assists with scheduling, confirming appointments, and processing payments as needed.
Maintains accurate treatment records and client notes in accordance with spa policies.
Communicates professionally and courteously with members, guests, co-workers, management, and the public.
Adheres to all spa policies, procedures, safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.
Maintains current knowledge of massage techniques, spa trends, products, and wellness practices.
Exhibits and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects positively on The Polo Club.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Wellness Manager or Director of Wellness.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires knowledge of massage, flexibility, determination and dependability.
Requires knowledge of massage therapy techniques, body treatments, anatomy, and wellness practices.
Must possess flexibility, dependability, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.
Previous luxury spa, resort, or club experience preferred.
Ability to perform 30, 60, and 90-minute massage and body treatment services.
Requires excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be a team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Requires good judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Knowledge of spa services, products, and bodywork techniques required.
Knowledge and proper use of spa equipment including hydroculator, hydraulic massage table, Vichy shower, hot stone equipment, and body treatment products such as salts, creams, and seaweed treatments preferred.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively in English and understand written and verbal instructions.
Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with members, guests, supervisors, and co-workers.
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor during busy periods.
Must possess or be able to obtain all required state massage therapy licenses and certifications.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout scheduled shifts.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Education and/or Experience

Certificate from college or technical school plus one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively on a one-on-one basis with members and guests.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Internet software and Spa software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Massage Therapy license, First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
