About this role

What You Get To Do:

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues; improve equipment reliability through upgrades or design modifications.
  • Administer the Tekmon system (managing PM schedules and task validation); develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), inspection checklists, and work instructions.
  • Manage, stock, and organize maintenance parts and inventory. 
  • Conduct training for maintenance staff, stay current with industry practices via workshops and professional societies, and maintain technical knowledge.
  • Provide on-call support for after-hours or weekend emergencies to ensure 24/7 manufacturing operations. Flexibility to work a continental shift.  Travel domestically and internationally as required for training and equipment procurement.

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Expected to keep their work area clean and perform regular housekeeping duties as assigned. 
  • Ensure the 5S program is maintained and enforced. 
  • Step in when needed to cover for staff members. 
  • Travel as required for equipment procurement. 
  • Must attend production meetings. 
  • Availability to work or be on call during evenings and/or weekends as required to support 24/7 manufacturing. 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

 

Work Environment

  • Office and Industrial Manufacturing settings
  • PPE Required: Safety boots, eye protection, ear protection.

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Engineering university degree, preferably Mechanical or Chemical
  • Pursuing Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
    Exceptional process aptitude (i.e. understanding of cause and effect of various process parameters such as temperature, pressure, formulation etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Educational background or certifications in Operations Management, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Willingness to work or be on call during evenings and weekends as needed.
