The Assembler I report to the Manufacturing Foreman as a member of the Midland, TX production team. The production team is responsible for the construction of Platinum products with a high-level accuracy in a timely fashion. This position will cut and thread pipe and other materials at our facility. The Assembler I will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. An Assembler must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.
Responsibilities
• Determine the appropriate equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up pipe for cutting according to specifications
• Cut pipe to length with saws, pipe cutter, torch, etc.
• Thread pipe using pipe threading machine
• Assemble pipe based on drawings and schematics
• Mount pipe on equipment using brackets, clamps, and u-bolts using hand and power tools
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Engages in the company’s vision and seeks to implement processes and establish goals with the company’s vision in mind.
• Complies with all Safety policies, practices, and procedures and reports all unsafe activities to Safety Manager
• Maintains cleanliness of the work area and associated equipment.
• Seeks growth in expanding knowledge and skills through training and education.
• Communicates questions and concerns to management.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills
• Excellent attention to detail required
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (pipe cutter, pipe threader, saws, squares, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings preferred
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Proficient in English
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, twist/turn, push/pull, squat, crawl/kneel, reach above shoulder.
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm movements.
• Average close/distance vision necessary in order to record data and operate equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and be understood by others.
• Must be able to hear the various equipment in order to diagnose issues.
Required Experience
• Oil & Gas experience is preferred
• High school or equivalent
