Robotics Software Engineer
About this role
We are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to join our early-stage team. We want a practical, deployment-oriented engineer who is excited about putting robots to work on real-world manufacturing problems, not just building in simulation. You’ll play a key role in helping us meet surging customer demand and scale robotic deployments across aerospace, energy, and defense.
What will you be doing?
Design and develop software for industrial robotic systems across motion planning, computer vision, and real-time control.
Write, test, and deploy code directly onto physical robots, with most work reaching production systems within 1–2 months.
Work across the full robotics stack as a generalist, contributing wherever needed, from perception to planning to system integration.
Travel to customer sites (up to ~2 months/year) to deploy, debug, and support robots in real manufacturing environments.
Build tools, interfaces, and infrastructure (e.g. GUIs, workflows) that enable reliable robot operation on the shop floor.
Contribute to key architectural decisions and help scale our robotics stack, including motion planning frameworks like Drake.
Collaborate closely with a small, high-ownership team to bring automation into critical American manufacturing workflows.
Company at a glance
The company automates visual quality assurance and surface finishing for manufacturers using robotics technology developed by Carnegie Mellon-founded engineers. Its competitive advantage lies in deploying code directly to production robots, enabling rapid real-world iteration and continuous system improvement.

Culture & values
Tight-knit, high-output team with a mix of founders (CMU robotics background), software engineers, and mechanical engineers working closely together with no silos.
Deployment-driven culture where engineers spend time both in the office and on real customer sites, shipping code directly to robots in production.
Rapid iteration and real-world feedback loops are central to how work gets done.
Builder-first, low-ego environment that is collaborative, practical, and mission-driven, focusing on solving real manufacturing problems rather than only pursuing flashy robotics.
Hands-on, fast-moving work style that encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration between hardware and software.
