SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday – Friday 7:30- 4:00 with availability for on call rotation once per month.

Pays $24.40 - $29.00per hour DOE (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)   

LOCATION: 151-155 Geneva Avenue, Dorchester MA,  

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for but not limited to the day-to-day maintenance including grounds work, plumbing, minor electrical work, basic carpentry, troubleshooting H.V.A.C and food service equipment, wall repair, Building Engine PM, painting, special projects and seasonal snow removal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

REQUIRED: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read printed labels and instructions

PREFERRED: 

  • Hoisting License Certification or basic training certification in Building Maintenance
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED: 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of building trades such as painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems

PREFERRED: 

  • Previous experience in Building Maintenance
  • Building System software work order Program

PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:

REQUIRED: 

  • Frequent bending, standing, stooping, stretching, and lifting
  • Ability to lift heavy objects 50 – 100 lbs. assisted, such as appliances and furniture
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and access all areas of the buildings 
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Participate in the Emergency On Call Rotation once per month
  • Operate equipment and deliver 12-passenger vans and box trucks for maintenance during winter season
