The Applications and Database Support Specialist provides day-to-day operational support and maintenance for the organization's data and reporting environment. This role assists with monitoring data integrations, maintaining reporting solutions, supporting database quality assurance processes, and troubleshooting business intelligence tools. The incumbent works closely with business stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Human Resources to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and availability of critical data systems and reports.
This position is responsible for monitoring SSIS packages and SQL Server jobs, supporting Power BI reporting and data refresh processes, performing data quality checks, documenting database objects and integrations, and assisting with Power Platform solutions, including Power Automate and Power Apps. The role also supports API integration monitoring by identifying, documenting, and escalating issues to senior team members as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with monitoring and triaging SSIS package failures and SQL Agent job alerts
Run and validate existing Power BI reports; perform basic DAX edits and data refresh troubleshooting
Support data quality checks and QC logging procedures across operational databases
Write and optimize ad hoc SQL queries to support business teams
Assist with documentation of stored procedures, views, and SSIS packages
Support Power Automate flow maintenance and minor PowerApps updates
Help manage API integration monitoring (Raiser's Edge, DoorDash, Omnitracs) — log errors, flag anomalies, escalate issues as they arise
Collaboration and Training: Work closely with IT management, project managers, and internal teams to deliver new system functionality. Provide training on new application tools, reports, and data processes to end users.
Data Analysis and Insights: Conduct thorough analysis of data, emphasizing quality, relevance, and identifying variables that impact cross-functional user groups. Prepare detailed reports and analysis for management and team projects.
Customer Service: Maintain high levels of internal customer service by addressing user concerns promptly and providing effective solutions.
Compliance and Security: Ensure data protection measures align with organizational policies, job roles, and industry standards.
Process Improvements: Utilize advanced SQL knowledge, Power Platform tools, SSIS/SSAS, and programming skills (C#/VB) to support technology initiatives and data analysis needs Identify and implement technology solutions to improve business processes and address organizational needs.

QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of SQL and an understanding of database designs.
Strong data analytic ability aligned with goals, projections, and trend identification.
Ensures the protection of data is appropriate by job roles.
Builds open relationships with cross-functional leadership to initiatives appropriately.
Must have strong attention to detail and deadlines.
Using SSIS/SSAS (SQL Server Integrated and Analysis Services)
Knowledge of different system platforms C#/VB, Microsoft Power Platform, API development and integration
Utilize advanced SQL knowledge, Power Platform tools, SSIS/SSAS, and programming skills (C#/VB) to support technology initiatives and data analysis needs.
Preferred
PowerShell scripting basics
Experience with REST APIs or Power Automate
Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of previous experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst or related experience. Previous experience working managing data and reporting for dynamic teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects from conceptual, through development and testing and into production.
Experience collaborating to support a shared and diverse goal which requires deadlines, accuracy, and broad data sets.
Preferred
Experience working in an industry with distribution, order fulfillment and product selection
Educational Achievement
High School Diploma or GED required. Education or experience equal to a bachelor’s degree
