1- Purpose of the Role (Job Summary)

Own MEP procurement and subcontracting for data center projects — from long-lead OEM equipment (generators, UPS, switchgear, chillers) to installation subcontracts — protecting schedule through early ordering and margin through competitive, back-to-back packaging.

2- Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

· Build the MEP procurement plan against the L3 schedule, starting with long-lead equipment and protecting order deadlines.

· Package MEP subcontracts (mechanical, electrical, ELV, fire) with clear scope splits, demarcation matrices, and back-to-back terms.

· Run RFQ cycles: bidder lists, inquiries, technical alignment with design, commercial adjudication, and award recommendations.

· Negotiate OEM supply agreements covering price, delivery, escalation, warranties, FAT and commissioning support, and spares.

· Maintain OEM frameworks and rate agreements for repeat equipment classes.

· Expedite critical orders: vendor progress, FAT scheduling with QA/QC and T&C, shipping and logistics.

· Manage subcontractor prequalification and performance; maintain the approved vendor register.

· Control procurement documentation — POs, subcontracts, amendments — and prevent claims.

· Report procurement status weekly: placed, pending, at-risk, and savings achieved.

3- Key Performance Indicators

· 100% of long-lead orders placed by planned dates.

· Procurement savings of 3% or more against budget.

· No schedule slippage attributable to procurement.

· Back-to-back coverage on all subcontracts (clean flow-down audit).

· Vendor on-time-in-full delivery of 90% or better.

4- Qualifications & Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical (mandatory); CIPS, PMP, or CDCP an advantage.

5- Experience

· 15–20 years in MEP procurement and subcontracting for EPC projects, including 6+ years on data center facilities.

· Direct negotiation of critical power and cooling equipment with major OEMs.

· Subcontract packaging and administration on lump-sum EPC contracts.

6- Competencies

· Strong negotiation with technical depth.

· Schedule-first procurement mindset.

· Contractual precision on scope splits and flow-downs.

· Vendor relationship management without capture.

· ERP/SAP procurement fluency.
