Job Purpose

Lead, plan, develop and manage UTP’s Global Learning and Mobility (GLAM) agenda by spearheading student internationalisation initiatives and supporting the Director in advancing UTP's internationalisation aspirations. The role is responsible for planning, implementation and continuous enhancement of student mobility programmes, global learning opportunities and international experiential learning initiatives, while operationalising strategic partnerships established by UTP. This includes leading inbound and outbound mobility activities, analysing performance data to drive programme effectiveness, planning and managing resources, expanding collaboration networks with partner institutions and stakeholders, and driving student participation in international experiences to develop globally competent, highly employable and globally competitive graduates.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Global Engagement Strategy & Programme Development

Lead, plan and manage the implementation of global engagement initiatives by establishing operational plans, developing new international learning opportunities, identifying programme improvements and ensuring the delivery of impactful global experiences that enhance students’ intercultural competence, global awareness and international exposure.

Student Mobility & Global Learning Programmes

Lead, plan and manage the implementation of student mobility and global learning programmes by overseeing the administration of existing initiatives, staff and associated resources, while continuously evaluating programme effectiveness, quality and outcomes. Drive the enhancement and expansion of international learning opportunities through the development of new initiatives, improvement of existing programmes and rationalisation of underperforming activities where necessary. This includes overseeing inbound and outbound mobility activities, student exchange programmes, international internships, research attachments, summer programmes, immersion programmes and other global learning initiatives, while ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, student outreach, programme governance, compliance, risk management and operational excellence. The role is accountable for increasing student participation in international experiences and delivering meaningful global learning opportunities that enhance students' intercultural competence, global exposure and employability in support of UTP's internationalisation agenda and aspiration to produce highly employable, globally competitive and well-rounded graduates.

International Partnership Operationalisation

Lead the operationalisation of strategic partnership established by the University by translating partnership agreements into meaningful mobility opportunities, coordinating with partner institutions and stakeholders and ensuring sustainable utilisation of international collaboration for the benefit of students and UTP. Proactively advise Director and Vice Provost on partner universities and institutions recruitment.

Resources Planning and Management

Lead, plan and manage the resources required to support the successful delivery and growth of student global learning and mobility initiatives by conducting resource planning, forecasting programme needs and optimising resource utilisation. Collaborate closely with the Director and Vice Provost on budget planning, financial management and funding strategies, including securing external sponsorships and financial support from relevant internal and external parties.

Database Management and Reporting

Lead the development and management of data collection, tracking and reporting systems for global learning and mobility programmes by identifying key data requirements, establishing appropriate data management processes and ensuring the integrity of programme information. Lead the analysis and interpretation of mobility statistics, participation trends, impact assessments and key performance indicators, and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to support strategic planning, informed decision-making, continuous improvement and the achievement of the UTP's internationalisation objectives.

Section Administration

Manage the administration of the section by executing all administrative tasks such as budget preparation, activities planning, subordinate management, conflict and grievance management from all parties, staff training, performance evaluation and mentoring/guiding of direct reports and other junior staff in Student Affairs for overall performance improvement.

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Recognised Bachelor's degree and above

  • High interpersonal skills, excellent communication capabilities including written and verbal

  • Strong desire to lead, innovate processes, and develop people

  • Good ability to manage crisis and emergencies

  • More than 5 years of experience in relevant skills practice
