Carmana Hotel & Suites, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Houseperson to join our dedicated team. As a hybrid property, we offer both nightly stays in our spacious suites and extended stays in our high-rise residences, all designed with comfort, style, and guest satisfaction in mind. 

We are currently seeking a full-time Houseperson who will play a key role in maintaining our hotel’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. As an ambassador of the hotel, the Houseperson supports the housekeeping team and ensures all public spaces are clean, welcoming, and reflective of our commitment to excellence in guest service. 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. With at least one year of experience in a similar role, they are a proactive team player who takes pride in their work and is ready to go the extra mile to support a first-class guest experience. This is a physically active role that requires stamina, focus, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all public areas, including washrooms, elevators, fitness rooms, lobby, laundry room, meeting rooms, staff areas, retail corridor, hotel entrances, courtyards, and parking areas. 
  • Use the correct cleaning chemicals and follow health and safety regulations. 
  • Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, shampooing carpets, and cleaning windows, balconies, and floors. 
  • Remove garbage and recycling from public areas, offices, and parking lots. 
  • Manage and maintain linen and supply rooms, including restocking, collecting laundry, and tracking incoming/outgoing items. 
  • Receive and store supplies and equipment. 
  • Set up meeting rooms, elevators for deliveries, and assist with special events as needed. 
  • Assist front desk with guest room and luggage deliveries, uniform deliveries, and special guest requests. 
  • Lock elevators for housekeeping carts and equipment transport as required. 
  • Report any irregular issues or maintain concerns to management. 
  • Perform other housekeeping tasks or projects as assigned.

 What You Bring

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills.
  • Level one first aid certificate, an asset. 
  • Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, standing for extended periods. 
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Adaptable and willing to take on different duties beyond the Houseperson role as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, meticulous, and methodical in performing duties.
  • Commitment to providing quality customer service with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, able to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Open to constructive feedback and new ideas, maintaining a positive, professional attitude. 
  • Able to develop strong, positive, and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains a high-level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.

Wage: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
