Project Manager

London · Hybrid

About this role

Are you ready to move beyond designing projects and start driving them?

We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our London Project Management team, in particular working across Corporate Interiors. You will have a degree architecture or project management and will be ready to take the next step and play a bigger role in how great projects get delivered.

You might have worked in architecture, and are now looking to move into project management, or you may have recently completed a degree in Project Management and are keen to build your career within this area. Either way, you’ll bring curiosity, organisation and a commercial mindset and we’ll help you develop the rest.

Perkins&Will are an award-winning international design firm and industry leaders in commitment to sustainable design. Our London office is established as one of the most successful design firms in the UK and Europe, delivering a wide range of professional design services including new build architecture, strategic workplace consultancy services, corporate interiors, large scale urban design and planning development and hospitality.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting project delivery: Helping corporate interior teams stay on track with scope, programme, budget and quality.
  • Commercial: Supporting fee, budget, forecasting, invoicing, variations, change orders and commercial reporting.
  • Keeping projects moving: Coordinating resources, schedules, deliverables and project information across multiple teams.
  • Working with clients: Building strong relationships and communicating clearly on project, programme and commercial matters.
  • Managing risk: Identifying potential issues early and helping teams resolve them before they become problems.
  • Supporting winning work: Contributing to proposals, project pursuits, interviews and the development of project scopes and fee proposals.
  • Embracing digital delivery: Developing your understanding of BIM, digital project management tools and how technology is changing the way projects are designed and delivered.
  • Contributing to team development and influencing colleagues.

What we’re looking for

At this level, we're not expecting you to know everything. We’re looking for someone with the drive and potential to become an excellent Project Manager.

You’ll have:

  • Experience working in architecture or project management.
  • Genuine interest and some previous experience within the architecture or interior design industry.
  • An understanding of the design process, RIBA stages and the realities of delivering complex projects.
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • The confidence to communicate with designers, consultants, clients and wider project teams.
  • An interest in the commercial side of projects, including budgets, fees and contracts.
  • A proactive approach - you spot things, ask questions and get involved rather than waiting to be asked.
  • An appetite to learn about project management systems, BIM, digital delivery and industry best practice.

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to build a career at the intersection of design, delivery and business.

You will get exposure to the decisions that sit behind successful projects. Not just what gets designed, but how it gets delivered, managed, resourced and executed.

Bring your design knowledge. Bring your ambition. We’ll help you build the project management career to match.

Education

  • Essential: Educated to degree level ideally within architecture or similar.
  • Desirable: Project Management qualification such as PRINCE, APMP or similar.

Skills & Competencies

  • BIM platforms: Ideally some familiarity with Revit and/or BIM coordination.
  • Project management systems: Ideally some experience with systems such as PMTK is useful, but can be learned.
  • Understand project financial management and contract administration, including project coordination, budgeting, scheduling and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement.
