Job Description

We are looking for a lawyer with a strong track record in corporate legal advisory and compliance to lead the Legal and Compliance function in Colombia and serve as the local point of contact for the Global Legal & Compliance Department.

Requirements

  • Law degree and a valid license to practice law in Colombia.
    • A postgraduate degree or master’s degree in Corporate Law, Compliance, or a related field is preferred.
    • At least 10 years of legal experience, including relevant experience in regulatory compliance.
    • Knowledge and experience in SARLAFT, PTEE, and AML/CFT matters.
    • In-house experience, as well as experience leading or coordinating legal teams, will be highly valued.
    • Experience in corporate, commercial and/or regulatory matters.
    • Advanced written and spoken English.

Functions

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate, commercial, employment, contractual, regulatory, and litigation matters.
    • Lead the monitoring, updating, and review of the Firm’s Compliance policies and procedures.
    • Review and negotiate commercial agreements, lease agreements, and supplier contracts.
    • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of SARLAFT and oversee the PTEE.
    • Manage KYC processes, conflicts of interest, and compliance risks.
    • Design and deliver compliance and professional ethics training initiatives.
    • Serve as the key point of contact for partners, regulatory authorities, and the Global Legal & Compliance Department.
