Summary of Role

As a Market Sales Manager – Business Transient, you are responsible for identifying and developing target accounts, as well as nurturing existing client relationships to meet or exceed individual sales goals for revenue, ADR, and transient group business in the Atlanta area. The role involves proactive sales activities such as outside calls, trade shows, and site visits within your assigned market. Building long-lasting, trusting relationships with clients, GSOs, and peers is essential. Additionally, you must understand your role in achieving the hotel’s overall financial success. Hotels include The Tess Buckhead, Element Atlanta Buckhead, Springhill Suites Atlanta Downtown, Tru by Hilton Atlanta Galleria Ballpark.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual targeted sales goals.  
  • Maintain an active list of target accounts to ensure continuous relationship development.  
  • Establish new client relationships and maintains existing relationships to maximize revenue.  
  • Actively solicits new business opportunities through prospecting target client lists. 
  • Seeks methods to penetrate key business activities within the market and finds profitable ways to bring this business to the hotel.  
  • Respond in a timely manner to incoming group sales opportunities that are within pre-defined parameters.  
  • Work collaboratively with other sales channels (e.g. on-property resources) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary, and not duplicative.   
  • Capture and close the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions, the property's needs, and within the hotel parameters.  
  • Coordinates and plans all familiarization tours (FAMs), in-market customer events, and site inspections—both for out-of-market and in-market accounts—ensuring thorough communication with Event Management and effective data collection to support targeted planning, while tracking bookings and leads generated from these activities. 
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked. Transfer accurate, complete, and timely information to the Events department in accordance with hotel and brand standards. 
  • Effectively resolve guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process. Bring issues to the attention of the property and sales leadership team as appropriate. 
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, 4 Keys service standards, brand guidelines, and safety and security procedures. 
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Must have strategic planning skills; ability to translate financial concepts into actionable business strategies and tactics. 
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Understand and align with the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel. 
  • Prioritize tasks, work efficiently with limited supervision, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. 
  • Communicate effectively in the primary workplace language, demonstrating excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills. 
  • Work well under pressure and in challenging conditions, using good judgment to resolve problems, follow directions, and collaborate effectively as part of a team. 

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience of sales experience in area or market role with Marriott & Hilton brand experience.

Additional: Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs

     

    Pay: The rate of pay for this position is $90,000-$97,000 plus quarterly sales incentive eligibility.

    The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

    • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
    • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation 
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
    • Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
