About this role

Who We Are
At Pepper Money, we’re dedicated to helping people succeed—whether it’s buying a family home, a dream car, developing professionally, or growing their business. We’ve become one of the largest, most trusted, and award-winning non-bank lenders in Australia and New Zealand. Over our 26 years, we’ve achieved a lot, but our proudest accomplishment is helping over half a million Australians reach their goals with our ever-expanding lending options.

The Role
As Senior Manager, Risk Assurance, you’ll lead Pepper Money’s second-line risk assurance function, providing independent assurance over how well our controls and risk management processes are working across the business.

Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, you’ll design and deliver a risk-based assurance program. This includes controls assurance, thematic reviews and assurance over key processes and control environments.

You’ll play a key leadership role, providing clear insight and constructive challenge to Executive forums. Your work will help ensure risks are managed appropriately and that our control environments remain effective and aligned to Pepper’s Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement.

You’ll work closely with the Governance and Enablement and Operational Risk teams to turn assurance outcomes into meaningful improvements across frameworks, processes, reporting and risk culture. In doing so, you’ll support confidence in the Three Lines model and continue to lift Pepper’s overall risk maturity.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls and identifying gaps, weaknesses and improvement opportunities
