About this role

Currently we are looking for a new team member to join our Pepco Team as a:

Technical IFRS & Accounting Manager

Your key responsibilities will be: 

 

  • Act as a senior IFRS technical advisor for the Pepco Segment, providing expert, business‑oriented guidance on complex accounting matters affecting strategic decisions, investments, M&A projects, and operational structures.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers with impact assessments, recommendations, and IFRS benchmarking.
  • Monitor new and upcoming IFRS standards, amendments, and interpretations across 18 countries; assess their impact and support end‑to‑end implementation across the Group.
  • Translate technical IFRS topics into executive‑ready insights and presentations for senior stakeholders, including the Executive Committee and auditors.
  • Provide technical support during closings, including consolidation review and IFRS issue resolution.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and participating in technical discussions with auditors.
  • Develop, update, and modernize Group Accounting Policies, the Accounting Manual, and internal IFRS guidance.
  • Deliver IFRS training sessions and knowledge sharing for finance teams across markets to ensure consistent application of standards.
  • Drive continuous improvements in accounting processes, controls, and documentation quality.

 

Skills and experience we are looking for:

 

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; ACCA or Polish statutory auditor (PIBR) qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in technical accounting, audit, or a similar IFRS‑focused role.
  • Strong hands-on IFRS knowledge (consolidation, impairment, provisions, capitalization, estimates).
  • Proven ability to prepare and defend technical accounting papers and accounting judgments.
  • Practical experience in implementing new or amended IFRS standards within a group environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to clearly explain complex topics to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Very strong communication and presentation skills in English (C1 level or above), with confidence presenting to senior management.
  • Solid understanding of audit processes and documentation requirements.
  • Experience with consolidation systems (e.g. Jedox, Hyperion) and advanced Excel skills.
