The Opportunity: Controls Engineer Technician
Primary Function: The Controls Engineer Tech is responsible for machine control startup, debugging, calibration, and verification on newly assembled or manufactured machines.
Essential Functions:
Tests newly manufactured and assembled equipment according to each customer's established test procedure.
Uses specialized measuring, diagnostic devices, and software to evaluate functionality and proper sequence of machine control systems.
Handles machine control startup, debugging, calibration, and verification
Notify appropriate management of recurring issues with equipment and/or operation of equipment when necessary.
Assist with other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Reports To: Technical Manager
Qualifications:
Required
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar, or at least 2 years experience working as an electrical technician.
- Knowledge of electrical theory and practices, including testing sensors, switches, actuators, and indicators for proper function.
- Computer hardware maintenance methods, techniques, and network connection.
- Basic understanding of NEC standards and state codes.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and annotated PLC programs.
- Manual Dexterity: working with wires, using hand tools and handling small components.
Preferred
Previous controls engineering tech experience in a contract manufacturing environment

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00 per hour. The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational requirements.
