Position Summary
At Moxy, checking in is anything but traditional. The Moxy Welcome Crew is the Front Desk Agent & Bartender creating a fun, welcoming arrival experience by seamlessly combining guest services with bartending. From checking guests in and issuing room keys to crafting cocktails and sharing local recommendations, this role brings the energy of Bar Moxy to life.
This team member serves as a host, bartender, problem-solver, and local guide, all while creating genuine connections with guests. The ideal candidate is outgoing, confident, adaptable, and comfortable balancing hotel responsibilities with fast-paced bar service.
Job Overview
Guest Arrival and Front Desk
- Welcome guests and deliver a friendly, playful, and efficient Moxy arrival experience.
- Process check-ins and check-outs, including reservations, room assignments, keys, payments, and deposits.
- Explain hotel amenities, recognize Marriott Bonvoy members, and provide local recommendations.
- Respond to guest requests and concerns promptly, coordinating with other departments as needed.
- Monitor front-office activity and protect guest information, keys, cash, and hotel records.
Bar and Food Service
- Engage guests and help create an energetic, inclusive atmosphere at Bar Moxy.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and approved food items.
- Process orders and payments accurately while promoting menu offerings and signature drinks.
- Follow recipes, food-safety standards, and responsible alcohol-service requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar, including opening and closing duties.
Moxy Guest Experience
- Build genuine guest connections and encourage interaction throughout the hotel’s social spaces.
- Stay informed about local attractions, restaurants, entertainment, and events.
- Support hotel programming, games, music, and social activations.
- Collaborate with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
- Maintain clean and inviting guest areas while following all Moxy brand and company standards.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous bartending, front desk, restaurant, or customer-service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with guests in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, multitasking, problem-solving, and basic computer skills.
- Ability to obtain required TABC and food-handler certifications.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, carry, and perform repetitive tasks associated with bar and front-desk operations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, or the standard established by the property.
- Ability to work around moderate noise, music, crowds, and an active bar environment.
