Summary

CNC Operator is responsible for work duties related to the operation of PD CNC Machines. Efficiently moving Engineering Models through CNC machine-based programing to output workable parts for the Development team.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Follow blueprints, work orders, or other instructions to determine product specifications or material requirements
Communicate clearly with Solid Shop Supervisor on daily output expectations
Ensure equipment maintenance schedule is being followed
Complete general equipment maintenance between each use
Safely operate machinery to ensure no harm is done to employee or machine
Ensure all safety procedures are followed
Maintain a clean and safe workplace
Report all incidents relating to safety with the Alpha Shop Supervisor
Attend required meetings and trainings
Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
Fosters a culture that values family, innovation, collaboration, and empowerment
Follows all safety and workplace policies

Competencies and Skills

Operating knowledge of department processing equipment and processes
Experience working with multiple material types (Wood, Metal, Plastic, Adhesives, Wiring, etc.)
Expert level proficiency with reading Mechanical Drawings
Expert level proficiency with Drawing Software (SolidWorks, Mastercam, etc.)
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to demonstrate and apply PD’s workplace values
Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment

Education/Certification

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

3-5 years of previous experience

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required throughout the workday
Must be able to climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
Must be willing to work OT based on project needs
