Job Summary:

The Roofing Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial roofing systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain commercial roofing systems, including flat, low-slope, and steep-slope roofs.
  • Work with roofing materials such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal, and asphalt shingles.
  • Diagnose roofing issues and perform effective repairs.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Conduct roof inspections and identify defects or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
  • Comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and PPE requirements.
  • Operate roofing tools, equipment, ladders, and other job-related machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, foremen, and crew members to complete projects on schedule.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Commercial roofing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial roofing systems and installation methods.
  • Ability to safely operate roofing tools and equipment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel locally as business needs require.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Commercial roofing experience required.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work at elevated heights for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
