The PDC Development Technician is responsible for capturing, processing, and organizing high-detail images and data related to PDC cutters and production drill bits. This position supports the development of detailed reports used internally and externally to help guide decisions regarding current and future products.

Detailed Description

The PDC Development Technician follows structured workflows to ensure images, physical samples, documentation, and data are captured and processed accurately and consistently. A high level of attention to detail is essential, as the information generated in this role supports product development and performance analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Capture structured, high-detail, and consistent images of PDC cutters on drill bits using DSLR cameras and semi-automated photography systems. 
  • Compile and organize images for transfer into data-processing systems. 
  • Prepare run-recap reports for internal and external use. 
  • Strictly follow established work instructions and processes. 
  • Maintain exceptional documentation, accuracy, and consistency. 
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with a diverse group of departments. 
  • Identify trends within collected data and effectively communicate findings to the team. 
  • When properly trained, provide occasional backup support grading cutters according to established work instructions. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to follow strict workflows and established work instructions consistently. 
  • Ability to accurately manage documentation, images, and data transfers. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments. 
  • Ability to maintain consistency while performing repetitive, detail-oriented tasks. 
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to identify trends and communicate relevant findings to the team. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform highly detailed and organized work. 
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with rotating weekend coverage. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating a DSLR camera or demonstrated photography skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience compiling reports, documenting findings, or performing data-related work. 

Additional Details

This position is based in Fort Worth, Texas, and requires a Monday-through-Friday schedule with rotating weekends. The role involves working with photography equipment, drill bits, PDC cutters, computer systems, and detailed documentation within a manufacturing-related environment.
