Join Our Rig Operations Team
We are seeking motivated, safety-focused individuals to join our drilling operations team. Whether you are beginning your career in the oil and gas industry or are an experienced rig professional, we have opportunities available across multiple rig positions including Floorhand, Motorhand, Derrickhand, and Driller.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, reliability, and operational excellence while supporting drilling operations in a fast-paced environment.
Position Summary
Rig crew members are responsible for safely performing drilling operations while maintaining equipment, following company procedures, and supporting the overall success of the drilling team. Responsibilities vary based on experience and position level but all roles work together to ensure efficient, safe, and productive rig operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard identification.
- Assist with rig-up, rig-down, and daily drilling operations.
- Operate and maintain drilling equipment and associated machinery.
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work effectively as part of a team.
- Support well control procedures and emergency response activities when required.
- Work rotating schedules and extended shifts in varying weather conditions.
- Complete all required documentation and safety training.
Position Responsibilities by Role
Floorhand
- Assist with pipe handling and drilling operations.
- Maintain rig equipment and housekeeping.
- Support loading, unloading, and movement of materials.
- Learn drilling processes while developing technical skills.
Motorhand
- Maintain diesel engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
Driller
- Supervise daily drilling operations and rig crew activities.
- Operate drilling controls and monitor well conditions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, operational, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate drilling activities with Rig Managers and field leadership.
- Mentor and develop crew members while maintaining efficient operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous oilfield or heavy industrial experience is preferred; experience requirements vary by position.
- Ability to work a rotational schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous land drilling rig experience.
- Well Control certification (Driller positions).
- H2S Safe, Safeland/PEC, or other industry certifications.
- Experience operating heavy equipment or mechanical systems.
- Leadership experience for Derrickhand and Driller positions.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Climb ladders, stairs, and drilling structures.
- Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Work at heights and around moving mechanical equipment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including flame-resistant clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
