About this role

Detailed Description: 

  • Performs basic quality control testing of well stimulation and cementing fluid systems and additive to verify requested design.
  • Assists the Lab Supervisor and/or Sr. Lab Technician in the additive selection and design of advanced stimulation and cementing fluids.
  • Learns to prepare, operate, maintain and calibrate equipment in the laboratory in accordance to company standards.
  • Assists in performing pre-test and pre-job tasks needed in preparation for providing analytical support to actual operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring clean, orderly and safe working conditions in laboratory.
  • Assists in preparing documentation and reporting of laboratory data related to field testing of new technology.
  • Attends periodic safety and operations improvement meetings and location quality improvement meetings.
  • Tracks and records monthly chemical inventory.
  • Maintains daily log-in book.
  • Work safely and comply with all company and government mandated safe work practices and environmental regulations.

Job Requirements: 

  • Detail-oriented and strong communication (written and oral).
  • Proficient computer skills (MS, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and general record keeping.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Motivated; a “self-starter”; able to work independently.
  • Good multi-tasking skills and time management skills.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely to send and receive information.
  • Attends periodic safety and operations improvement meetings and location quality improvement meetings.
  • Tracks and records monthly chemical inventory.
  • Maintains daily log-in book.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1 year of experience working with chemicals
  • Proficient computer skills (MS, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and general record keeping.
  • Ability to understand and speak English at a level of proficiency allowing employee to issue, receive and respond to both safety and operations-related directions in English.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Working Conditions

Work is primarily in a climate-controlled area with a health hazard potential. May involve exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, noise, and hazardous working conditions (e.g., proximity to moving mechanical parts, high heat, chemicals, and confined spaces).The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
