JOB SUMMARY:
To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member and ensuring the properties are maintained to present a safe, welcoming environment to live, work and receive services.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Previous Experience/Work History: 3 Years Maintenance Experience, direct experience and knowledge making repairs in residential and commercial sites.
Driver's License and Vehicle Required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be physically able to lift and move items as necessary at least 50 pounds.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- To assist, perform or arrange the completion of maintenance functions in all agency facilities. This includes making repairs, requesting support from outside contractors and other team members.
- When scheduled, will open and/or close locations according to procedures and in keeping with the Security System.
- Perform site checklists to assure safe operation of all mechanical systems and the environment in general.
- Monitor and ensure preventative maintenance schedule for all PATH facilities (including interior and exterior). Complete checklists. This may include landscaping, cleaning, and other facility maintenance work orders.
- Assist supervisor in training the staff in facilities maintenance issues.
- Arrange to complete necessary maintenance as issues arise.
- Work with supervisor to prioritize necessary work schedule.
- Painting as supervisor assigns.
- Supervise outside contractors at PATH sites when needed.
- Oversee the organization of the long-term storage facility.
- Assure adequate positioning of copy paper supplies at various copiers at company sites.
- Drive agency vehicles when necessary for site relocations, residential client moves or material pickup.
- Monitor heating, ventilation and air conditioning daily.
- Be on call during work hours to respond to emergency requests regarding facility support functions.
- Assist in monitoring evacuation during fire drills conditioning daily.
- Assure snow removal from sidewalks, walkways, parking lots and driveways of all PATH properties.
- Assure coordinated effort to facilitate refuse removal conditioning including at administrative sites and residential sites.
- Order and pickup hardware materials necessary for ongoing maintenance projects.
- Responsible for being on call for a week at a time, under a rotating schedule within the department which may include evening, morning and weekend hours.
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing nonstructural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems
- Support and maintain facilities inventory system
- Staff Safety Committee Meetings.
