Cleaner

London · On-site

About this role

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team and help us maintain excellent standards across our client site.

You'll be responsible for carrying out a range of cleaning duties in line with agreed schedules and specifications, helping to create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone using the building.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be trusted to manage your day-to-day responsibilities, identify any issues and work closely with your Supervisor and the wider team to ensure consistently high standards.

What you'll be doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out cleaning duties in line with agreed schedules and site specifications

  • Carrying out window cleaning where required, following the correct procedures and Health & Safety requirements

  • Ensuring cleaning is completed to a consistently high standard

  • Checking your own work and addressing any areas requiring further attention

  • Using cleaning products, equipment and materials safely and correctly

  • Ensuring equipment and materials are properly maintained and stored after use

  • Following all relevant Health & Safety, COSHH and site procedures

  • Wearing the correct uniform and PPE for the task being completed

  • Updating your Supervisor on any changes, problems or issues identified on site

  • Reviewing allocated work using the Jobber system

  • Reporting any outstanding or unresolved cleaning issues

  • Working closely with colleagues to make sure all required areas are completed

  • Responding professionally to reasonable requests from the client or management team

  • Using your initiative to resolve straightforward issues where appropriate

  • Supporting and guiding less experienced team members when required

  • Helping us continuously improve cleaning standards across the site

What we're looking for

Previous professional cleaning experience would be beneficial, along with an understanding of the standards expected when working within a client environment.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can be relied upon to deliver a consistently high standard.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous cleaning experience

  • Good knowledge of safe cleaning practices

  • An understanding of Health & Safety within the workplace

  • Good attention to detail

  • A reliable and punctual approach to work

  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative

  • Good communication skills

  • A positive and helpful attitude

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Confidence communicating with clients, colleagues and visitors

  • A flexible approach when priorities change

Experience using cleaning machinery or carrying out window cleaning would also be beneficial where relevant to the site.

Health & Safety

Safety is an important part of the role.

You'll be expected to take responsibility for your own Health & Safety and consider the safety of colleagues, clients and visitors who may be affected by your work.

You'll follow the correct procedures when using cleaning chemicals, machinery and equipment and ensure the appropriate PPE is worn when required.

If you identify a potential hazard or an issue you cannot resolve safely, you'll report it promptly to your Supervisor.

Working with our clients

As a member of our cleaning team, you'll regularly work within our client's environment and may have contact with employees, contractors and visitors.

We're therefore looking for someone who is professional, approachable and respectful, and who understands the importance of representing both our business and our client positively.

Join our team

If you're a reliable and hardworking cleaner who takes pride in delivering high standards, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll join a supportive team where your contribution makes a genuine difference to the people who use the building every day.
