Area Cleaning Supervisor

About this role

Area Cleaning Supervisor

Multi-Site Cleaning Operations | Facilities Management

We’re looking for an experienced Area Cleaning Supervisor to support our cleaning teams across a portfolio of client sites.

This is a hands-on, mobile role working closely with our Regional and Account Managers to make sure our sites are properly staffed, well supported and consistently delivering high standards of cleaning.

You’ll regularly visit different locations, carry out quality checks, support cleaning operatives, provide cover where required and make sure our teams have everything they need to deliver a great service.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervising and supporting cleaning teams across multiple client sites

  • Carrying out regular site visits and cleaning quality spot checks

  • Supporting Regional and Account Managers with the day-to-day running of cleaning contracts

  • Helping provide cover during periods of holiday and sickness

  • Checking cleaning teams have the correct equipment, uniforms and consumables

  • Identifying any cleaning or service issues and helping resolve them quickly

  • Supporting monthly site audits and feeding back to cleaning teams

  • Monitoring cleaning standards and addressing areas requiring improvement

  • Supporting new starters with inductions and site procedures

  • Delivering toolbox talks and helping teams complete required training

  • Monitoring Health & Safety standards across sites

  • Ensuring documentation including RAMS, COSHH and Safe Systems of Work is current and being followed

  • Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses

  • Monitoring SmartTask usage and ensuring teams are correctly booking in and out

  • Supporting cleaning teams with the correct use of machinery and equipment

  • Building positive working relationships with clients and responding professionally to any issues

  • Keeping Regional and Account Managers updated on site performance and any areas requiring attention

What we're looking for

You'll have previous experience supervising cleaning teams, ideally across multiple locations.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable being hands-on. There may be occasions where you'll need to step in and support the cleaning operation yourself, so this isn't purely a management or auditing position.

Essential

  • Previous Cleaning Supervisor experience

  • Experience supervising cleaning operatives

  • Experience working across multiple sites

  • IOSH qualification as a minimum

  • Good Health & Safety knowledge

  • Understanding of COSHH and safe cleaning practices

  • Good organisational and time-management skills

  • Confident communicating with clients and cleaning teams

  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Flexibility around working hours

Desirable

  • Previous cleaning experience within Facilities Management

  • Specialist cleaning experience

  • Relevant cleaning or FM qualification

  • Experience using cleaning machinery including buffers, scrubber dryers and i-mops

  • Experience carrying out cleaning audits and quality inspections

  • Experience using workforce/job management systems such as SmartTask

A hands-on supervisory role

This role would suit someone who enjoys being out on site with their teams, rather than managing cleaning operations entirely from behind a desk.

You'll be helping operatives, checking standards, resolving problems and making sure our clients consistently receive the service they expect.

Because you'll support several sites and provide operational cover when required, flexibility around working hours is important.

Join our team

If you're an experienced Cleaning Supervisor who takes pride in high standards, enjoys supporting people and is comfortable working across multiple locations, we'd love to hear from you.
