Job Description:

Overview

The Construction Technician I position is responsible for performing basic inspection tasks on infrastructure projects to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements while gaining hands-on experience under the supervision of senior staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic field inspections of construction activities and installed work.

  • Assist with daily reporting, documentation, and verification of construction progress.

  • Monitor job site safety practices and traffic control measures as applicable.

  • Take field measurements using standard tools and support data collection.

  • Communicate with contractors and project team members to coordinate activities and escalate field issues.

  • Follow direction from supervisory staff and contribute to inspection quality and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

  • Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standard inspection practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections and documentation.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Reliability and dependability.

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed.
