Contract: Full-time, permanent

Do you thrive on data and enjoy translating insights into actionable strategies? Are you passionate about connecting people with high-quality digital content and driving website growth? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and award-winning digital team at Pan Macmillan.

You don’t need prior publishing experience for this position.

Your team:
The digital communications team at Pan Macmillan is an eighteen-person team of experts covering the breadth of the digital marketing ecosphere. From metadata to SEO/GEO, data collection to analysis, paid digital ads to influencer coordination and much more, the digital communications team endeavours to touch every element of our books as they appear on the internet – and make sure that they find as wide an audience as possible.

Our team is collaborative, trusting, dynamic and open to fresh ideas and experimentation, making it the perfect place to develop your digital skill set and work on the most interesting books in the world.

Your role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and data-driven Website Analytics Executive to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the reach and performance of our website by analysing content performance and user engagement, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven strategies to increase search engine and generative engine visibility, traffic, engagement and conversions.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Analyse website performance: Evaluate performance data using tools including Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console and Peec.AI to understand content performance, user behaviour, channel value and to uncover areas for improvement.

  • Deliver data-driven recommendations: Identify opportunities for new editorial content and for optimising existing content, and make recommendations for new website features to enhance user experience when relevant.

  • Lead reporting and communication: Generate regular reports, visualising data clearly and articulating the story behind trends. Communicate findings to marketing, editorial and sales stakeholders, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Inform content marketing and SEO/GEO: Collaborate with content teams to identify opportunities for growth across a wide range of channels (organic search including generative engines, organic and paid social, email, Google Discover, etc.) and stay current on digital analytics trends, particularly GEO.

  • Collaborate across teams: Work alongside web development, marketing and editorial teams to align optimisation efforts with business objectives.

Essential experience, abilities, knowledge and values you’ll need to succeed:

  • Analytics expertise: Thorough understanding of, and proven experience in using, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Looker Studio and SEO tools (Ahrefs, Semrush).

  • Data storytelling: Excellent reporting and visualisation skills, with the ability to build automated reports and translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies.

  • Communication and collaboration: Effective interpersonal skills with a proven track record of working alongside cross-functional, non-technical teams.

  • Growth mindset: Curious, creative and analytical thinker eager to stay ahead of digital innovation.

  • Project management and prioritisation: Highly organised with the ability to handle multiple analytical projects, meet deadlines and stay adaptable in a dynamic team environment.

  • Inclusion and representation: An active dedication to promoting diverse voices and inclusive practices, taking personal responsibility for ensuring our workplace reflects the communities we serve.

  • Community: A collaborative approach to building a supportive and vibrant working environment.

  • Curiosity: A genuine drive for continuous learning and a readiness to embrace fresh ideas and experimentation.

  • Integrity: A foundation of openness and honesty, taking responsibility for actions and learning from mistakes.

  • Passion for books: An enthusiastic love for reading and literature (no prior publishing industry experience required).

Desirable skills we’d love you to have:

  • GEO tools and application: Experience using generative engine optimisation analytics tools (e.g., Peec.AI, Profound, Otterly.ai) and putting those insights into action.

What you’ll get in return:
In return, we can offer you a range of great projects, a supportive and collaborative working environment as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.

Salary: £34,000 to £38,000

Note on salary: The offered salary is dependent on experience and expertise. We benchmark our ranges to ensure fair, competitive compensation that grows with your impact.
