Duration: 3 Months (Full-Time Internship)

About the Project

Pakka Limited is driving innovative waste valorization initiatives to transform industrial by-products into sustainable and commercially viable solutions. As part of this journey, we are seeking a passionate and research-oriented intern to contribute to the Bagasse Pith Valorization Project, focused on identifying technologies, validating concepts, and evaluating market opportunities for value-added applications of bagasse pith.

This internship offers an opportunity to work closely with industry experts and gain hands-on exposure to research, technology assessment, product development, pilot trials, and commercialization studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and technology scouting for bagasse pith valorization applications.
  • Identify and evaluate suitable technology providers, research institutes, startups, and potential collaboration partners.
  • Support laboratory-scale and pilot-scale trials for shortlisted technologies and products.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and technical data.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Perform market research to identify potential applications, customers, and commercialization opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners for project-related activities.
  • Travel, if required, for technology assessments, trials, or partner interactions.

Project Deliverables:

The intern will be expected to achieve the following outcomes during the internship:

1. Technology Identification & Evaluation

  • Identify potential technologies for bagasse pith valorization.
  • Assess technical feasibility, scalability, and commercial viability.
  • Recommend suitable technology providers and strategic partners.

2. Product Development & Trials

  • Support successful execution of laboratory and/or pilot-scale trials.
  • Document trial findings and performance outcomes.
  • Contribute to product validation and feasibility assessment.

3. Market Assessment

  • Evaluate potential market opportunities for selected products.
  • Identify target industries, customer segments, and commercialization pathways.
  • Develop preliminary business and application recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering or Production Engineering, OR
  • M.Sc./Master's Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.

Students in their final year or recent graduates with a strong interest in sustainability, industrial innovation, and product development are encouraged to apply.
