The University of Southampton, in partnership with Oxford International Education Group (OIEG), has successfully launched its first international campus in India, located in Gurgaon, Delhi. Job Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Executive – Human Resources with 1–2 years of HR experience to support the Human Resources function within the University. The role will primarily focus on Talent Acquisition (60%) while also supporting HR Operations (40%). The incumbent will work closely with the Head of HR to ensure timely recruitment, smooth onboarding, employee lifecycle management, HR administration, and compliance with organizational policies.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for academic and professional services positions.
  • Draft and publish job advertisements on recruitment portals, LinkedIn, university website, and other sourcing channels.
  • Source candidates through job portals, social media, employee referrals, and professional networks.
  • Screen resumes and prepare candidate shortlists.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling with hiring managers and interview panels.
  • Maintain recruitment trackers and applicant databases.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate pre-employment documentation, background verification, and reference checks.
  • Prepare offer documentation and support onboarding activities.
  • Generate recruitment MIS reports, dashboards, and hiring metrics.
  • Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment events.
  • Coordinate with external recruitment agencies where required
  • Collaborate with the Global Talent Acquisition Partner to ensure consistency in process, accurate reporting and candidate experience.
HR Operations
  • Assist in employee onboarding and induction programmes.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support attendance, leave management, and HRMS updates.
  • Coordinate employee confirmation, probation review, and contract documentation.
  • Support payroll inputs by ensuring timely submission of attendance and employee data.
  • Assist in implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Support employee engagement activities, training coordination, and HR events.
  • Maintain HR reports and employee databases with complete accuracy.
  • Coordinate exit formalities and documentation.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information and HR records.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of HR on various HR initiatives and projects.
  • Supporting for employee Engagement activities
  • Collaborate with the Global People Operations team to ensure consistency in process, accurate reporting and a positive employee experience.
Special Requirements
  • Experience in recruitment and HR operations is essential.
  • Experience in the education or university sector will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 30% travel across India
  • Recruitment positions filled within agreed timelines.
  • Time-to-hire and quality of hire.
  • Candidate experience and hiring manager satisfaction.
  • Accuracy of HR documentation and employee records.
  • Timely completion of onboarding and employee lifecycle processes.
  • HRMIS and recruitment reporting accuracy.

Person Specifications

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
  • Bachelors in a relevant field.
  • 1-2 Years of Experience in supporting University HR operations
  • Experience in higher education. Experience of working with a top-ranked university is an advantage.
  • Experience in supporting HR Operations, Talent Acquisition & Employee Engagement .
  • High level of competence using IT, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Evidence of having achieved the Recruitment targets in conversion
  • Diploma / Master's level qualification in Human resources Management (Desirable)
  • 1 Year Experience of supporting international University (Desirable)
  • Experience Related to Education Domain (Desirable)
  • Experience is working with Global Team , Stakeholders (Desirable)
