Paint Line Product Handler
About this role
Paint Line Product Handler | $18–$21/hr | 4-Day Work Week
PV Finishing (Owen Industries) – Carter Lake, IA (Near Downtown Omaha) | Mon–Thu, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Be the Finishing Touch That Sets Us Apart.
At PV Finishing, quality doesn't just happen — it's built into every step of our powder coating process, including the hands that hang, inspect, and move every part through our line. We're looking for a Paint Line Product Handler who takes pride in precision, moves with purpose, and understands that the final product is only as good as the care put into it.
This is a hands-on, active role on a 4-day work week with a 3-day weekend. Occasional OT on Fridays as workload permits.
The Details
- Starting pay: $18.00–$21.00/hr depending on experience
- Hours: Mon–Thu, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Schedule: 4-day work week — 3-day weekends
What You'll Do
- Hang and unhang parts with care and precision, following the Paint System Tech's workflow and sequence
- Ensure proper spacing and positioning of parts on the line to guarantee even, consistent coating coverage
- Inspect each piece for quality issues — light spots, drips, coating inconsistencies — and flag anything that doesn't meet our standards
- Keep your workspace clean, organized, and safe while contributing to an efficient, high-output production line
- Support the overall powder coating process and assist the team where needed to keep production on schedule
What We're Looking For
- Strength and stamina — able to lift and move heavy materials safely and repeatedly throughout the shift
- A sharp eye for detail and a genuine drive for quality in everything you do
- Reliable, focused, and able to maintain a steady pace in a fast-moving production environment
- Powder coating experience is a plus — but not required, we'll train the right candidate
- Previous experience in manufacturing or a hands-on production role is helpful
- Safety-conscious and committed to following procedures

Company at a glance
Owen is the parent company of several steel processing and fabrication companies throughout the Midwest. Our oldest division, PVS Structures, was founded in Omaha, NE as Paxton & Vierling Iron Works in 1885, and focused primarily on our foundry and structural products. The company eventually rebranded as Paxton & Vierling Steel (PVS) in 1954, and our logo has worn the badge of PVS ever since. In the 1950s the ownership broke ground for a new steel facility in Sioux City, Iowa that would be named Missouri Valley Steel (MVS). Concurrently, Paxton & Vierling branched into Service Center Warehouse sales in the 1960s, and eventually split off as a separate entity when it moved into more advanced steel processing in the late 1990s. This company is now called PVS Metals and resides in a state of the art facility in Carter Lake, IA. Owen's next focus was the northern tier, and a new plant called Northern Plains Steel (NPS) was built in Fargo, ND that also specialized in warehouse and metals processing. Our latest iteration is also in the northern tier and is called Northern Plains Finishing (NPF) that focuses on powder coating for OEM and other similar customers. Owen, a private company powered by over 400 dedicated professionals, believes that the best projects are those that view the customer and supplier relationship as a partnership, and that proper execution is one in which all parties can be successful.
