Pilot Plant Operator - NH.
Area: Londonderry, NH
Schedule
- Primarily 8-hour shifts with overtime opportunities.
- Occasional evenings and weekends based on operational needs.
Position Objective
Support the safe and efficient operation of a metal-processing pilot plant, including furnace operations, equipment maintenance, commissioning, material handling, and process development activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Industrial, manufacturing, steelmaking, foundry, or pilot plant experience preferred.
- Molten metal and high-temperature processing experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and accurately document process activities.
- Basic computer and effective communication skills.
- Forklift, crane, rigging, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced pilot/R&D environment.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including a PAPR (Power Air Purifying Respirator)
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate and monitor pilot-scale furnaces, molten metal processes, and related equipment.
- Support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and process improvements.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Follow operating procedures and maintain required process data and documentation.
- Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Comply with company, OSHA, environmental, and safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Work safely around heat, noise, dust, vibration, humidity, strong magnetic fields, and industrial equipment.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and navigate uneven surfaces throughout the workday.
- Work in high-temperature environments for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Safely use required PPE, hand/power tools, and material-handling equipment.
Compensation
$32–$40 per hour depending on experience
