Commercial Sewing is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support product development, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement across our organization. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys balancing technical design work with time on the production floor—creating practical solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and performance.

You'll play a key role in bringing products from concept to production while collaborating with teams throughout the company to drive innovation and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Product Development & Engineering Support

Create, maintain, and revise part, assembly, tooling, and fixture models using SolidWorks.
Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
Support product development projects from concept through production launch.
Assist with prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements.

Manufacturing Support & Troubleshooting

Investigate and resolve manufacturing, product, and process-related issues.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Work directly with production teams to improve processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
Support day-to-day manufacturing operations through hands-on technical problem solving.

Tooling, Fixtures & Process Improvement

Design, build, and validate jigs, fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids.
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste and improving performance.
Participate in workflow optimization and manufacturing process enhancements.

Documentation & Systems Management

Develop and maintain work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.
Maintain engineering records, drawings, and Bills of Materials.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of engineering data within the Epicor ERP system.
Support engineering change management and revision control processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Engineering, Production, Sales, Quality, and Operations teams.
Contribute to new product introductions and manufacturing readiness activities.
Help align technical solutions with customer requirements and business objectives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of manufacturing, engineering, or product development experience.
Strong SolidWorks or comparable CAD software experience.
Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.
Experience with fabrication, machining, tooling, fixture design, or manufacturing processes.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Epicor or other ERP systems.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience supporting new product introductions.
Background in textiles, sewn products, or assembly-based manufacturing environments.
Exposure to fixture design, process development, and production optimization.
